KOT's
Kappa Omicron Tau (KOT) is the college guidance division of female students for the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc... KOT comprises of one phase of the youth component of the NSPDK, Inc. national Y.E.S. (Youth, Education and Service) Program.
The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. has always had a major concern for the guidance of youth. In 1942 under the leadership of Ms. Gertrude A. Robinson, the plan for Jr. Teachers Guidance clubs was adopted. Ms.Gertrude A. Robinson also conceived College Guidance Groups.
It was Ms. Annabelle Scarborough who sought to make the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Kappa Omicron Tau Division highly visible on college campuses. During the high technology emphases of the late 1970's and early 1980's, there was a decline in the number of young women recruited for membership in KOT. However, with the publication of recent studies on education in our nation, there has been renewed interest in careers in teaching and allied educational fields.
